The thin pliant face seal creates a positive pressure environment within the visor that ensures any pollutants in the working area are kept at bay. Should the face seal become damaged from grinding sparks, there is a very strong risk that the pressure could become equal inside the visor, which could allow contaminated air to enter.
The Clearmaxx PAPR visor should never be used without a face seal.
