GasiQ Optimator 11 Adjustable 30L for Air Integra Cylinders
All welders know the cost of welding wire per kilo. But do you know what shielding gas costs per meter of weld? It costs at least as much as the wire. Optimator is a regulator that was designed from the start with a specific purpose – to save gas. It reduces your shielding gas consumption by up to 50% with normal welding. The high quality of the welded joint it produces is something you get for free. Every time you start a traditional regulator, a large amount of gas is lost for no benefit.
The Optimator delivers the optimum start flow that is just a quarter of that of a traditional regulator, right from the first second. This unique two-stage reduction valve has been developed for most shielding gas welding applications. The extremely pressure sensitive second stage greatly reduces the gas surge that normally occurs at start-up with traditional regulators. This helps to save large amounts of shielding gas and the even start flow also helps to provide a higher quality weld with the elimination of turbulence that can sometimes contribute to porosity in the welded joint.
This version of the GasiQ Optimator II is for use on Air Products Integra cylinders with an additional flow meter and is used primarily in welding processes where both the shielding gas and backing gas are to be taken from a single gas cylinder. It provides the same shielding gas savings as the GasiQ Optimator. In purely practical terms the benefits is that far less gas is wasted during the welding process, which in turn leads to far fewer gas cylinder changes.
