Optrel Panoramaxx Quattro PAPR ADF Welding Helmet
The only thing that the Optrel Panoramaxx range have in common with conventional welding helmets is that it is still a welding helmet. The Optrel Panoramaxx series takes welding helmets into a new dimension of vision and comfort which enables the wearer to perform tasks that had previously seemed unthinkable. Traditionally when it came to enlarging the welder’s field of vision, the norm was to increase the size of the viewing area. The down side to a larger ADF was it would make the welding helmet larger and this in turn would increase the physical weight of the helmet. Optrel’s solution to producing a larger viewing area whilst still keeping the physical size and weight of the helmet down to a minimum, was to bring the actual viewing area closer to the wearers eyes. With traditional welding helmets this could never be achieved because the wearers nose would always get in the way. The Panoramaxx range overcomes this problem by using a technological advancement in lens design. The redesigned shape of the ADF lens and a cut-out in the display has resulted in an extremely impressive, 600% enlargement of the wearers field of vision without increasing the weight and physical size of the welding helmet. An additional benefit is a clear separation from the nose and mouth area, this resulted in wearer no longer exhaling onto the ADF display and thus prevents the anti-glare window from tarnishing.
The Panoramaxx range also comes fitted with the ‘Bar Raising’ Optrel IsoFit ® headgear, which ensures the wearer unprecedented levels of comfort. By simply turning the micro-adjustable rotary wheel, the IsoFit ® headgear will adapt in seconds to perfectly fit on to most head shapes and sizes, from S to XL. Thanks to the ergonomic design of the perfectly fitting Optrel IsoFit ® headgear, the Panoramaxx range of welding helmets feel feather-light making them fatigue-free. With the IsoFit ® headgear fitted the Panoramaxx welding helmets series really do fit “like a glove” and ensures a perfect fit even in the most extreme working positions. Despite their light weight construction the Panoramaxx series are highly robust and will protect the wearer against external mechanical influences and are rated to medium energy Impact (120m/sec) Grade 1.
The Panoramaxx Quattro is a heavy-duty welding helmet designed for extreme use. In addition to its panoramic field of vision the Quattro also offers optimum protection even at difficult viewing angles. It’s extremely good visibility is confirmed by the optical classification 1/1/1/1 according to DIN EN 379. this means the lens ensures a perfect view, free of defects and distortion.
Shadetronic ® The patented Optrel Shadetronic technology feature is on all of the Panoramaxx range of welding helmets. Selecting the correct shade level to ensure the optimum protection for the eyes is most important, at the same time it’s also the most neglected function. More often than not the shade level on a welding helmet is never adjusted. With the Shadetronic feature a highly developed light sensor permanently measures the intensity of the welding arc and regulates the level of protection fully automatically during the reactive state from protection level 4 to the maximum protection level of 13. It’s now possible to achieve optimal protection without the need to constantly keep adjusting the welding helmet, This allows for uninterrupted working with any welding light intensity up to shade level 13. The Shadetronic technology is ideal for hot start at the beginning or during the crater fill and slop out function at the end of the welding process or simply when welding with different current strengths.
Fadetronic, with the patented Optrel Fadetronic technology the change from dark to light of the ADF display can be continuously regulated after the welding process is complete. This eliminates the unpleasant afterglow associated with high-ampere applications or slope out applications. Eye fatigue for the wearer is significantly reduced thanks to the fluid opening of the display, this allows the eye’s to adapt back more gradually.
The Optrel Panoramaxx range have integrated in to them an intelligent detection sensor control system made up of 5 sensors. Thanks to highly developed software and a clever positioning of 4 sensors at the corners and 1 sensor in the upper centre, this ensures that the glare protection is switched on and off perfectly, even in areas with difficult lighting conditions and difficult welding applications.
The Panoramaxx range of welding helmets also comes equipped with an easy to activate grinding mode. The grind mode can be activated without the need to remove the welding helmet. This is achieved by simply pressing the robust and well-protected pressure switch, which is situated on the outside of the welding helmet. Once activated the ADF display remains deactivated in light state, this allows for trouble-free execution of some grinding applications. With another push of a button the glare protection is immediately reactivated and is ready once again for welding applications.
The Panoramaxx range have the unique and environmentally friendly Optrel re-charge energy concept, this ensures that the welding helmet always has enough energy to react. Using the latest solar technology, the rechargeable lithium polymer battery is constantly charged by either the welding light or by the ambient light in the work place. In addition to this the lithium polymer battery can also be charged directly using any USB charger via a micro-USB interface. The annoying changing of the batteries is no longer necessary and is much kinder to the environment.
Sensitivity Function, the ADF lens can be activated prematurely in certain lighting environments or if a number of welders are working in close proximity. Thanks to the stepless sensitivity control, the sensitivity of the sensors on the Panoramaxx range can be adapted to suit each individual environment and workplace conditions. The Super High “sensitivity setting is used if the welding current is extremely low and therefore the ADF will not darken.
The shells of the Panoramaxx range of welding helmets are designed using the latest ergonomic and aerodynamic technology. Due to their smoke and particle repellent shape, the Panoramaxx range of welding helmets can also be used during overhead welding applications.
The specially developed UV / IR filter on the Panoramax Quattro enables a realistic colour perception and brings true colours into the world of the welder.
