Tempilstik Temperature Indicating Crayons
An inexpensive alternative for surface temperature measurement, Tempilstik is a simple, easy-to-use surface indicator that delivers reliable and accurate results, with no gauges or calibration required. Tempilstik features a slim holder and dense chalk design, specifically engineered for smooth operation while maximizing user efficiency. Lasting longer than competing brands, Tempilstik provides the comfort, confidence and cost-effectiveness you expect in your temperature measurement indicators.
The range of temperatures that can be shown by the use of temperature indicating crayons is very large, from 38°C (100°F) to approximately 1370°C (2500°F), a different crayon for each temperature is required. They are good for a quick evaluation of temperature, and are used to check preheat, post heat and other heat treatments. Tempilstik are engineered precisely for the most critical jobs and meet the preheat temperature requirements of AWS D1.1 and other welding specifications.
Simply stroke the workpiece during heating, and the Tempilstik will make a distinct mark by melting at the point of contact once the surface reaches the indicator’s rated temperature.
Reliably accurate – results within +/- 1% of the rated temperature.
Easy to use – melts at designated temperature for easy visual inspection.
Provides strong chalk grip to avoid slippage.
Free of contaminants such as lead, sulphur and halogens.
Fast results reduce set up and down time.
Each Tempilstik marked by temperature and lot numbered for traceability.
Meets AWS D1.1, ASME Code Sec. I, III and VIII, ANSI/ASME Code B31,1 and B31.3.
