Metabo have perfected battery pack technology to its pinnacle. The Metabo LiHD batteries have been entirely re-engineered to include a new electro mechanical design which features a combination of, new high-performance battery cells, massive power rails and enlarged cell connectors made from a special CU alloy. These are designed to conduct the current with reduced losses and ensures that all of the useable energy in the battery is available to run the tools. With the Intelligent battery management system, all of the relevant information is stored on the microchip of the battery pack. This microchip communicates with the electronics of the machine and the charger and ensures an efficient and gentle charging process as well as ideal energy usage when working. The LiHD technology battery packs provide ultimate performance and extremely long runtimes, with maximum power and service life, with minimal temperature generation.

Metabo LiHD batteries use 21700 cells which gives them up to 47% more volume of energy-delivering anode, cathode, and electrolyte material, when compared with batteries using standard 18650 cells. This helps the Metabo LiHD batteries deliver between 50 to 100% longer runtimes.
The busbars and larger contacts used in the Metabo LiHD battery range are capable of handling much high currents. This helps to cover an entire power range up to 3,200 watts, making tasks previously not possible with cordless tools, possible.
3x better conductivity is achieved thanks to the cell connectors made from a specialized copper alloy.
The LiHD batteries offer optimal protection against internal contamination through complete grouting and full a protective coating on the electronic components, combined with an optimal seal on the top structure.
LiHD batteries have the ESCP (Electronic Single Cell Protection) feature, this is designed to protect each and every battery cell from discharging completely and from overcharging, helping to ensure extremely long battery life.
Patented air cooled charging technology ensures that the battery pack is cooled during charging, this helps to produce shorter charging times and much longer service life.
Exterior rubber coating on the battery pack provides secure, non-slip stability and helps to reduce damage against impacts.
The cells in the Metabo LiHD batteries are also protected by a rubber buffer.
